I personally like my apples nice and crispy. When they start to soften, I don’t enjoy them anymore, and I always end up with uneaten apples in my fruit basket. So after making the kale chips, I decided to try making apple chips with all my leftover apples!
My 2 yr. old son loves cinnamon, so to add a bit more flavor, I sprinkled some on top of each apple slice. They came out nice and crispy! The perfect sweet healthy snack in the afternoon. Now I don’t have to feel bad for all the extra apples laying around my kitchen.

NOTES
How To Core Apples - The best way to core an apple is with an apple corer shown above. It is easy and works perfectly. So I highly recommend getting your hands on a cheap apple corer.

Thank you so much Beverly! If you try out any of the recipes, let me know how you liked them! In terms of baking recipes that don’t use flour, does that also mean oat flour (made out of oatmeal)? In other words, are you trying to avoid gluten, and if so, are gluten-free recipes ok? Let me know and I’ll try to pass some of my favorites along, or develop some new ones in that area! And thanks so much for visiting my site!

Soft apples can be prevented by storing them in the refrigerator as they should be. Not many people seem to know this because stores usually display them unregrigerated, but that is because they take up too much cooler space. Try it and see–your apples will stay crisp for months. After all, they are harvested only once a year in the fall, yet we still get crispy apples six months later because the wholesalers keep them refrigerated.

Thanks for the tip!

Wow so happy to see this, I pay money to buy these things in a store that way exceeds the cost of the apples themselves! cannot wait to have the time to do this 🙂

Thanks Sarah! I know huh…when I first made them for the blog, I was surprised at how easy they were to make. I used to buy the large bags of apple chips from costco, but now I just make them at home. Hope you like them!

Sounds like a great idea to use up apples I’ve not juiced yet. A couple of questions..
How long do you think they will keep? Refrigerated or not?
More importantly – are you using Fahrenheit or Celsius?!
Thanks

Yep, this recipe is perfect to use up those apples. I am using Fahrenheit, sorry about that, I will update the recipe to specify. You can store the apple chips in an air tight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. Hope that helps! Let me know if you get a chance to try them out!
